Pilates is a full-body exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s. It focuses on improving strength, flexibility, and balance by targeting both small and large muscle groups. Using controlled movements and spring resistance, Pilates combines active stretching with resistance training. It helps tighten what’s loose, loosen what’s tight, and encourages a strong mind-body connection. Suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners, Pilates enhances how your body moves and functions in everyday life.
The Pilates Reformer may look intimidating, but it's designed to support your body through challenging exercises. It uses a footbar, straps, and a moving platform called the carriage, with springs providing adjustable resistance. Don’t be fooled—lighter resistance can make exercises even more challenging. The Reformer offers endless variations to work your entire body.
At Callie’s Pilates, we take pride in our close-knit community and dedicated instructors. Our Reformer-based classes help you discover muscles you didn’t know you had, while fostering a supportive environment where clients achieve their health and wellness goals. You’ll often leave with both new strength and new friends. We prioritize cleanliness, attention to detail, and an inviting studio atmosphere. Each class is unique, keeping you engaged and excited for more.
Give yourself plenty of time to find the studio—arriving rushed can make for a stressful start! Aim to get here about 10 minutes early to meet your instructor, go over the equipment, and get ready for a great Pilates experience. If you're pregnant or have any major injuries, please contact the studio beforehand so we can tailor the class to your needs.
Be patient with yourself during your first class. Learning Pilates is like learning a new language—it takes time to get the hang of it!
You should wear comfortable, form-fitting athletic wear. Grip socks are recommended for better traction on the Reformer, but they are not required. You can also practice barefoot if you prefer.
Downtown: For your first visit, park at any nearby meter or garage. The 9 Hotel offers valet parking at a discounted rate of $15 for Pilates clients. After your first class, your instructor will explain how to access a free parking lot with a special pass, available when the lot isn’t blocked off or during events. Please note, the studio and The 9 Hotel are not responsible for any damage in this lot. Like most downtown businesses, parking is self-managed. When you arrive at The 9, take the elevator to floor B2, and you’ll find the studio right when you exit.
Brecksville: Free parking is available behind Vertical Runner. Please avoid parking in spaces designated for Third Federal Savings Bank.
We have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel within 24 hours of your class, the class will be forfeited. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
All classes and packages expire 90 days after purchase. This policy helps ensure you achieve the best results by maintaining a consistent practice. Expired credits are not refundable or transferable.
When you sign up for the waitlist, you'll be notified if a spot becomes available. If you don’t secure a spot in the class, the class credit will be returned to your account for use at another time.
If you’re able to make a class at the last minute but the app doesn’t allow for immediate sign-up, please text the studio to let us know you’re coming. The instructor will assist with your registration upon arrival. Please ensure you arrive on time if you're signing up last minute.
